Collessie is an ancient medieval hamlet in North East Fife, clustered around its own church standing high on the hill. Narrow winding streets and a tumbling burn winding its way through the centre of the hamlet give Collessie a charming country air.
Previously Collessie was a thriving railway and weaving community, and now it holds conservation village status.
Thatched cottages from the 18th and 19th century, weavers cottages, the old schoolhouse and post office combine with newer conservation-style homes in the village to give the feel of a bygone age, while the Victory Hall is host to numerous events during the year, supporting the village lifestyle and providing funds for the upkeep of the Hall.
A large number of Collessie village houses have house names rather than house numbers, and as the postcodes for the village cover a large number of properties, it can be confusing for delivery drivers visiting the village.
There is a village map on the Noticeboard outside the playing field, and Robert Walton has kindly created a map here to show the exact location of properties within the village.
Please let us know if any of the details are incorrect or your house name has changed, and we will be happy to update this map for you, as needed - just use the contact form on the Contact Us page.
